SOUTHLANDS has a number of uniformed groups – Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides working with girls, and Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts which work with boys and girls.
Rainbows
This group works with girls of infant school age and meets in the Community Centre at Southlands from 17:00 to 18:00 on a Monday evening.

Brownies
In 2015 the Southlands Brownies took part in The Big Brownie Birthday Challenge, comprising 57 activities themed around events of the last 100 years since the formation of a group called Rosebuds – forerunners of the present-day Brownies.
The Southlands Brownies takes girls of Junior School age until they are nine and old enough to move up into the Guides. They meet in the Community Centre at Southlands from 18:30 to 20:00 on Tuesdays.

Guides
This group, which offers a very busy programme of outings and activities, is for girls aged nine and above. They meet in the Community Centre at Southlands from 19:00 to 21:00 on Wednesdays.

Beaver Scouts
This group, launched at the start of the 2014 summer term, meets in the Community Centre at Southlands before Cub Scouts, on Thursday evenings from 17:15 to 18:15. Numbers in this group grew rapidly through the summer term.

This group for boys and girls at junior school meets in the Community Centre at Southlands from 18:30 to 20:00 on Thursdays. It offers a varied programme and also grew in numbers over the summer term .
